BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — Gustavus women's swimmer
Stella Anderson Moye earned Rookie of the Year honors, the conference office announced Wednesday. Anderson Moye is the first Gustie swimmer to receive Women's Rookie of the Year honors. The conference office also released the Women's Swimming & Diving All-Conference performances, and nine Gusties made the cut.
Anderson Moye certainly made a splash for the Gusties in her first collegiate season. The Inver Grove Heights native helped the Gustie women to titles in the 200 freestyle relay (1:35.18) and 400 freestyle relay (3:32.69). She also swam on the third-place 800 freestyle relay team (7:46.65) and picked up honorable mention All-Conference distinction in the 100 free (53.72) and 500 free (5:14.38). Anderson Moye's helped lead the Gustavus women to their first MIAC Championship title since the 2015 season.
The All-Conference individual list included performances by
Lucy Peterson (50 free, 100 free),
Marit Isaacson (200 free, 200-IM), and
Hadley Wartner (200 breaststroke). Four Gustie relay teams earned All-Conference distinction, adding
Mikayla Witte (200 medley),
Lindsay Sundby (200 medley),
Olivia Koeneman (200 free), Anderson Moye (200 free, 400 free, 800 free),
Macey Whitlock (400 free), and
Chelsy Johnson (800 free) to the list of honors for the Gusties. Isaacson and Peterson also picked up All-Conference recognition for all four Gustie relay teams.
The Gusties also earned 13 Honorable Mention honors at the conference meet. They included: Koeneman (50 free), Anderson Moye (100 free, 500 free), Peterson (100 backstroke), Isaacson (200 backstroke),
Leah Soukup (100 breaststroke, 200 fly, 200-IM), and Sundby (100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke). Gustie divers
Kaija Pratt (1-meter, 3-meter) and
Emmalyn Dickerson (3-meter) each earned Honorable Mention on the boards for the Gusties.
Macalester Head Coach Kyllian Griffin earned Women's Coach of the Year, while MAC's Skye Schmit and St. Catherine's Emma Svendsen were tabbed Co-Swimmers of the Year. Izzy Treanor won the MIAC's Diver of the Year honor.
