SAINT PETER, Minn. — Stella Anderson Moye added another accolade to her decorated first year, as the Inver Grove Heights native was named the department's Female Newcomer of the Year. Anderson Moye is the first Gustie swimmer to garner MIAC Women's Rookie of the Year honors, as the first-year helped the Gustavus women to their first MIAC Championship title since 2015.

At her first championship meet, Anderson Moye helped the Gustie women to titles in the 200 freestyle relay (1:35.18) and 400 freestyle relay (3:32.69). She also swam on the third-place 800 freestyle relay team (7:46.65) and picked up honorable mention All-Conference distinction in the 100 free (53.72) and 500 free (5:14.38). Anderson Moye won at least one event at every meet she took part in, claiming seven individual wins between the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle events, as well as nine relay victories throughout the season.

"Both Logan [Cyr] and Stella made the most of their first year as Gusties," said Head Coach Jon Carlson. "They came into our program very talented, but took their swimming to the next level this season. I always tell our freshmen, 'You don't swim fast if you swim like freshmen,' and they swam like absolute champions this season, and were a huge part of our success on both sides."

The ballot for newcomer of the year featured four women and five men. The women were Anderson Moye, Olivia Duncan (track & field), Carly Olson (softball), and Kylie Scott  (hockey). Duncan finished second in the voting, followed by Olson in third. The male newcomer ballot featured fellow swimmer Logan Cyr, ade Anstine (track & field), Nick Brauer (cross country/track & field), Drew Holt (hockey), and Dominik Knutson (tennis). Cyr won the award, while Brauer finished second on the ballot, and Anstine in third.

The women's swim & dive team was also a finalist for Women's Team of the Year, as voted on by SAAC. The Gustie women claimed their first MIAC Championship since 2015, and qualified swimmers for nationals for the third consecutive year. The Gusties collected 21 All-Conference honors and five event championships at the MIAC meet, earning the program's 11th title.
