BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Stella Anderson Moye (So., Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) was named the MIAC Women's Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday, Jan. 21.Â
Anderson Moye took first in three events in the Gustie women's 167-133 victory over Carleton on Friday in the team's final home meet of the season. The sophomore won the 200 freestyle in 2:00.91, the 100 freestyle in 55.44, and was a part of the winning 200 freestyle relay that took first in 1:40.97. She added a second place finish in the 500 freestyle in 5:32.40.Â
This is the first career selection for Anderson Moye, the reigning MIAC Rookie of the Year, and the third weekly award for the women's swim & dive program this season, joining
Geneva Fackler (Fy., Plymouth, Minn.) and
Gabriella Stoudt (Jr., Maple Plain, Minn.), who was named Diver of the Week twice in the fall.Â
Anderson Moye ranks in the top-15 of six different events in the conference:Â 100 freestyle (11th), 200 freestyle (12th), 500 freestyle (13th), 1000 freestyle (13th), 200 IM (11th), and 400 IM (ninth).
The Gusties travel to Wisconsin this weekend for the two-day UW-Stevens Point Invite Friday and Saturday. Competition start times are set at 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday.Â
