SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus College women's swimming & diving team competed against the Luther College Norse in their season opener Saturday afternoon, winning 194-103.
 
Annika Beck won the 1000 and 500 meter freestyles, taking first place with times of 11:10.54 and 5:24.87 respectively. Leah Felton won the 200 freestyle in 2:01.24 and led the Gusties in the 100 freestyle with a second-place finish at 55.58. Katlyn Siers had the top finish for Gustavus in the 50 freestyle, placing second with a time of 25.02.
 
Joley Anderson placed first in both the 100 and 50 backstroke events, winning with times of 1:01.51 and 27.87.
 
Hadley Wartner added another two first-place finishes for the Gusties, taking the 100 and 50 breaststroke races 1:11.19 and 32.63.
 
Gabriella Stoudt led Gustavus in the diving events, placing second in both the 3-meter (190.35) and the 1-meter (210.30) dives.
 
Maddison Witte led the Gusties in two events, placing second in the 100 butterfly (1:01.91) and third in the 200 yard IM (2:20.25).
 
Linnea Reinsmoen had the best Gustavus time in the 50 butterfly, placing second in 27.91 seconds.
 
The team of Anderson, Wartner, Witte, and Felton won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:53.04 .The Gusties earned another relay victory in the 200 freestyle as Anderson, Siers, Anderson , and Nola Fisher lead the way at 1:41.50
 
Up next for the Gusties is a home meet against UW-Stevens Point and MSU-Mankato on Saturday, October 25 at 1:30 p.m. in the Vic Gustafson Pool.
