You need to make a lot of pars and a few birdies will happen. We will be much sharper tomorrow. Looking forward to day two and we will see where the cards fall heading into day three."
Jimmy Abdo led the Gusties on day one, shooting +1 to tie for 13
th overall out of the field of 120 golfers.
Wyatt Carlson shot +2 to tie for 25
th overall.
Chris Gutuza (+7),
Blake Forrest (+9) and
Aradheea Gawade (+11) followed to tie for 84
th, 95
th, and 109
th overall.
"Jimmy and Wyatt had pretty good scores today, but as a group we need to be much sharper," said Moe. "This is a very talented field with many teams we have not yet faced. Very much looking forward to the middle part of the tournament."
Up next for Gustavus is round two of the Golfweek Invite on Monday, October 13.
