NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus College women's soccer team battled the Bethel University Royals on the road Saturday afternoon in a conference contest.
Cambelle Waldspurger scored twice while
Katelyn Olson and the Gusties' defense held the Royals scoreless in a 2-0 shutout victory.
After a scoreless first half, Waldspurger put Gustavus up 1-0 early in the second half with an unassisted goal in the 47
th minute. She then double the Gusties lead in the 55
th minute, scoring her second goal of the game with
Lauren Coy assisting.
Olson saved six shots on goal to shut out Bethel in the win.
Gustavus outshot the Royals 15-13 in the game. Bethel had 11 fouls while the Gusties only committed two.
Up next for Gustavus is a return to Saint Peter for a conference home game against the Carleton College Knights on Saturday, October 11 at 3:30 p.m.
