EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The Gustavus Adolphus College men's golf team competed in the Wrigglesworth Blugold Invitational this week. The Gusties shot +35 over the two-round tournament to place seventh out of the field of 22 teams.
"Today we got off to a slow start, then after 12 holes we started making some pars to give us a chance to move up several positions on the field," said assistant coach
Randall Stuckey. "Unfortunately, we did not close out our last couple holes the way that we should and can do. We have high expectations and everyone will work hard to improve their games to meet those expectations and compete at the highest level."
Blake Forrest led the main Gusties team at the invite, shooting +6 through the two rounds to tie for 10
th overall out of the field of 119 golfers. Forrest shot +4 on Sunday and +2 on Monday.
Wyatt Carlson placed 27
th overall, shooting +9 at the invite. The senior shot +6 on the opening day and improved to +3 in the final round.

th, and 71
st overall for the main Gustavus team.
Up next for the Gusties is a trip to Florida for the three-day NCAA Preview starting Sunday, September 21.
"We will certainly be tested next weekend at the NCAA Division III national preview tournament in Florida," said Stuckey. "It will be the toughest field that we play and will put us to a good test."
