SAAC Mission
The Gustavus Adolphus College Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) strives to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity, protecting student-athlete welfare, and supporting and fostering a positive student-athlete image.
SAAC members:
- Facilitate communication between student-athletes, varsity teams, and the athletic department.
- Promote athletic events and campus awareness of athletes.
- Organize and partake in community service activities to network and serve the Gustavus and surrounding communities.
- Solicit student-athlete response to Gustavus, MIAC, and NCAA legislation.
Organization and Responsibilities
SAAC is made up of two student-athletes from each of the 23 sports represented at Gustavus Adolphus College.
Responsibilities of SAAC Members include:
- Attend twice a month meetings (program and/or training meetings).
- Act as the voice of the student-athletes and solicit and communicate student-athlete responses to proposed conference and NCAA legislation.
- Disseminate information to teams, the athletic community and the campus community.
- Build a sense of community and unity among student-athletes on campus as well as the campus community through a partnership with the Hill Crew..
- Promote a positive student-athlete image on campus and within the community.
- Participate in community service efforts.
Members meet twice per month on Monday nights in Lund Center at 7pm.
