Gustavus placed fourth at the MIAC Championships. The Gusties missed qualifying for nationals as a team by one place by finishing fifth at the Central Regional. Nichole Petersen earned all-conference honors for the second straight season by placing third at the MIAC Championships. She also placed third at the NCAA Regionals. Jen Skalko placed 13th to earn All-Region honors as well. Petersen placed 43rd at nationals and Skalko placed 105th.

2001 | Statistics

The Gusties finsihed the season by finishing 2nd in MIAC Championships and taking 8th in Regionals. Jen Skalko and Nichole both earned All-Conference honors with Jen finishing 5th and Nichole finishing 7th. Nichole also went on to finish 12th at the Regional and Jen finished 17th. Nichole then finished 68th at the National meet with a time of 18:20. Second year coach, Scott Jerome, was named MIAC Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year.

2000 | Statistics 

The Gusties finished sixth at the MIAC Championships and eighth at the NCAA Central Region meet. Senior Laura Graen led the team at the MIAC meet with a 17th place finish. Freshman Anah Huggenvik paced the squad at the Region meet with a 32nd place finish followed by Laura Graen who finished 34th. Both Huggenvik and Graen received All-Region honors.

1999 | Statistics

Under the direction of second-year coach Karen Vihstadt, the women’s cross country squad completed its season by placing ninth out of 12 at the MIAC Championships and 12th place out of 25 at the NCAA Central Region Meet in Waverly, Iowa. At the front of the pack for the Gusties was Faith Eskola, who finished second at the MIAC Championships, fifth at the NCAA Central Region Championships and 37th at the NCAA Championships. Eskola's 37th place finish at the NCAA meet is the seventh highest finish in school history. Eskola earned all-conference and all-region honors in addition to honorable mention All-America honors.

1998 | Statistics

First-year Head Coach Karen Vihstadt saw her young squad turn in several strong performances during the regular season including a second place finish at the St. John’s Invitational and a third place finish in the Grey Race at the UW-LaCrosse Invitational. In the Championship season, the Gusties placed eighth (out of 12) at the conference meet and 13th (out of 22) at the Central Region meet. Coach Vihstadt’s goal for this young team was striving for improvement each meet and that goal was reached when 18 of the team’s 23 runners recorded career personal best times at the MIAC Championships. Individually, junior Faith Eskola earned all-conference honors and joined junior Ann Fletchall on the all-region squad.

1997 | Statistics

Women’s Cross Country Squad Records Strong Finishes at Conference and Region Meets - Strong senior leadership from Becca Wold, LaDawn Osmundson, Sara Frykman, and Christine St. Hilaire helped the Gustiies record a fourth place finish (out of 12) at the MIAC Championships and a seventh place finish (out of 25) at the NCAA Central Region meet. At the MIAC Championships, Becca Wold led the way as she finished fifth earning all-conference honors. Sophomore Faith Eskola also placed at the front of the pack as she finished 18th. At the region meet, Wold again led the way with a 10th place finish. Other top finishers included Eskola placing 20th, and LaDawn Osmundson placing 33rd (out of 173). As a result of her 10th place finish at the region meet, Wold qualified for the NCAA Championships in Boston, Mass. where she wrapped up her collegiate career placing 36th (out of 184).
