Beth Retzlaff serves as the head coach of the Gustavus equestrian team. In addition to her coaching responsibilities, Retzlaff has served as an instructor at Pinewood Stables for the last 15 years.
Retzlaff competed in WSCA, NBHA, AQHA, Ranch Rodeo and participated in the 4-H horse project while in high school. She now competes in Ranch Rodeo as well as a sorting league during the winter months.
She studied equine science and equine business management at Cowley College in Arkansas City, Kansas. She then served as an equine director in Kansas before moving back to Minnesota, where she resumed her position as an Instructor and Trainer for Pinewood Stable.
Retzlaff earned a degree in accounting from the University of Minnesota-Crookston, and is a certified equine sports massage therapist and kinesiologist while also being the owner and manager of Full Flex Tack. She owns a chestnut gelding quarter horse named Bear and a donkey named Katie.
