Evan Haldeman is in his second year as the Esports director in the 2024-25 season. Haldeman is the first to hold this position in Gustavus Athletics history. 

At Gustavus, Haldeman oversees the planning and growth of the College's newly recognized Esports program, and is looking to expand opportunities for current and future students in collegiate Esports. 

There are currently four teams that students can join, each corresponding to a different competitive game: Valorant, League of Legends, Overwatch, and Super Smash Bros. 

Prior to coming to Gustavus, Haldeman, a 2023 graduate of MSU-Mankato, served as the Maverick's Esports assistant director for a year and a half. In this role, his responsibilities included managing the University's teams as well as planning events on campus and for the greater Minnesota Esports community.
