Nicole Kirscher started with Gustavus Sports Medicine in June 2026. She graduated with her Master of Science in Athletic Training from Winona State University in May 2026 and her Bachelor of Science in Health & Human Performance from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in January 2023.
During graduate school, Nicole completed immersive clinical rotations with the University of St. Thomas Division I football team and Hamline University Division III baseball team. In these roles, she managed multiple athlete caseloads, performed comprehensive injury evaluations, designed individualized and progressive rehab programs, traveled regularly with the teams, and collaborated with physicians and physical therapists to safely return athletes to sport. She also led an interprofessional quality improvement project in collaboration with counseling services to improve mental health awareness among student-athletes.
At Gustavus, Nicole works primarily with the football, club hockey, and baseball teams. She also serves as a preceptor for the Athletic Training program during the academic year.
Prior to pursuing athletic training, Nicole worked as an exercise physiologist in a hospital, served as a fitness studio assistant manager, and coached high school lacrosse.
Nicole is a board-certified, licensed athletic trainer in the state of Minnesota. In addition to this, she holds the following certifications: CPR & First Aid for the Professional Rescuer, Exercise Physiologist (ACSM), Corrective Exercise Specialist (NASM), Therapeutic Dry Needling (SFDN1), Mental Health First Aid, Graston Technique (M1), and Lifeguarding.
