Ty Hoffman is in his first season with the Gustavus swimming & diving program in the 2024-25 academic year. Head Coach Jon Carlson announced the addition of Hoffman to the coaching staff in August of 2024.
Hoffman joins the Gusties after previously serving as an assistant coach for the Franklin College swimming & diving program in Franklin, Ind. With experience in the field spanning over 18 years, Hoffman has coached a number of successful teams and athletes ath the high school and collegiate levels.
While at Franklin, Hoffman also served as the owner and operator of the Franklin Regional Diving Club and was the head diving coach at Franklin Community High School. He previously served as the head swimming & diving coach for Northwood High School in Nappanee, Ind. for seven years.
A native of Logansport, Ind., Hoffman coached the Grizzlies to 27 individual Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference titles. Additionally, his athletes qualified for NCAA Division III Regionals 24 times, DIII nationals twice, and earned two All-America honors. Every diving record for both Franklin College and the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference is held by Hoffman's athletes.
An accomplished diver himself, Hoffman also coached his high school athletes to nine IHSAA sectional championships, 15 state qualifications, six state finalists, and two state podium finishes.
