The Gustavus women's soccer team traveled to St. Joseph, Minn. for a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match with the Blazers from the College of Saint Benedict. After 76 scoreless minutes, Tina Lisk put the Blazers on top for good with an unassisted goal. Gustavus falls to 1-4-2 on the season and 0-1-1 in conference play, while the Blazers improve to 4-3-0 and 1-2-0 in the MIAC.

The Gusties tested the Saint Benedict defense early and often firing six shots in the first half. However, Blazers' goalkeeper Maija Schmelzer made all four saves. Ashley Ohlson recorded one save for the Gusties in the scoreless first half. In a match that saw 18 fouls, Tina Lisk was the only player to receive a caution, which came in the last minutes before the half.

As the match continued in the second half, both teams had opportunities to take the lead, but the goalkeepers kept the score tied at zero, until the later stages of the second half. Tina Lisk scored her team-leading second goal of the season at 76:54. The goal was unassisted.

Gustavus goalkeeper Ashley Ohlson made three saves and takes the loss. She falls to 0-2-2 on the season, while Maija Schmelzer made eight saves and improves her record to 2-1-0 with her second shutout of the season.

Gustavus will remain on the road for their next match on Wednesday as they will travel to Winona, Minn. to take on the Cardinals of Saint Mary's University. Game time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
