LEXINGTON, Ky. - The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) released its Division III regional awards Wednesday and two Gustavus student-athletes were recognized. Lauren Klaith and Kasie Tweet earned All-Region 9 First Team honors. 

Tweet, who was recently named MIAC Offensive Player of the Year, leads the MIAC and ranks sixth in Division III with 1,157 assists. Her 10.33 assists per set are nearly one more than the next conference setter and ranks ninth in Divison III. Playing in all 112 sets this season, Tweet has quarterbacked the Gusties to a .216 hitting percentage which ranks second in the conference. She is also a defensive presence with 3.05 digs per set and 41 total blocks. Tweet eclipsed the 3,000 career assist mark this season, becoming just the fifth player in program history to reach that milestone. Tweet last year was recognized as All-Region honorable mention. 

Klaith captures her first All-Region nod after tallying a team-leading 372 kills (3.32/set) with a .249 attack percentage. Klaith has also played in all 112 sets with 43 blocks and 46 digs. Klaith's 372 kills are in the program's top 20 for a single season and she ranks 31st in the career kills list with 685. 

Tweet, Klaith and the rest of the Gusties are preparing for Thursday's NCAA first round matchup against Calvin at UW-Oshkosh.
