BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — Four from the Gustavus men's soccer team earned MIAC All-Conference honors for their performance this season, the league office announced Tuesday. Otis Anderson, Jared Hecht, Owen Johnson, and Wesley Sanders were all named to the All-MIAC team, while Diego Paulin and Sam Just earned MIAC All-Playoff Team honors. 

Otis Anderson earned the third All-Conference honor of his career after playing and starting in all 20 of the Gusties' games. The fifth-year defender totaled a career-high 10 assists this season, as well as 34 shots, 19 shots on goal, and a team-leading 1,648 minutes of playing time. Anderson totaled eight of his assists against conference opponents — a stat that led the MIAC this season — and broke the program record for assists in a single game, with four against St. Scholastica on Oct. 28. 

Jared Hecht, who missed the first nine games of the season due to injury, made an instant impact in his return to the pitch. The senior striker earned his third-consecutive All-Conference honor after leading the Gusties in goals and points, despite missing the first two months of the season. Hecht totaled a career-high 21 points this season on 10 goals and one assist in only 11 games played. Hecht leads the conference in goals per game (0.909), goals per game against conference opponents (1.400), and points per game vs. conference opponents (3.00). Hecht has scored more than one goal in a game four times this season, and set a new career high with five points in the team's win over Concordia on Oct. 14. 

Owen Johnson, the Gusties' resident play maker, gathered points in nine games this season, and led the team with 12 assists. This marks the third season in a row for Johnson with double-digit assists, and the fourth in a row he has led the team in the statistic. The senior currently ranks third all-time for career assists (37). Johnson is five assists away from the program career record set by Matthew Gibbons (2017-21), and two away from passing Larry Shelhamer (1972-75) for second. Johnson currently ranks eighth in NCAA Division III for total assists this season. This is the second All-MIAC selection of his career, and his third all-time award, as he was named to the Honorable Mention list in the 2021 season.

Gustie keeper Wesley Sanders once again earned the All-Conference nod after being named Defensive Player of the Year in the previous season. In 19 games, Sanders posted a goals against average of 0.83 and a save percentage of 0.817. With 67 saves this season, Sanders collected a record of 10-2-6, as well as seven shutouts to set the program record for most career shutouts in program history (27). 

Sam Just and Diego Paulin were named to the MIAC All-Playoff Team as well. Just stared all three playoff games for the Gusties, and played in 286 game minutes between the three contests, registering a shot and helping the Gusties hold opponents to only one goal. Just also netted his penalty kick attempt against the Oles in the title match. Paulin scored the Gusties' equalizer against St. Olaf, responding just 47 seconds after the Oles' tally. Paulin also accounted for the assist on Joe Flory's game winner against Carleton in the semifinals. 

St. Olaf's Victor Gaulmin was named Offensive Player of the Year, while Hamline's Ryder Tomlinson Sterud earned the Rookie of the Year Award. Carleton won both Defensive Player of the Year (Justin Crawmer) and Coach of the Year (Bob Carlson).
