BLOOMINGTON, Minn. –Â
Peyton Richardson (5th, Crystal Lake, Ill.) was named the MIAC Men's Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday, Nov. 12.Â
Richardson went undefeated in the Gusties' 187.5-125.5 win over UW-Stevens Point in their home opener on Saturday. Richardson took first in the 200 butterfly (1:59.26), 100 butterfly (51.61), and the 200 IM (1:59.76). He also added a relay win in the 200 medley, with the Gusties finishing in 1:37.56.
His 200 fly and 200 IM times are both the fastest in the conference this season, while the Gusties now own the top time in the MIAC in the 200 medley relay. This is Richardson's second consecutive MIAC Athlete of the Week honor, and the sixth of his career.
The Gusties are back at home next Saturday, hosting St. Olaf at Vic Gustafson Pool for an 11 a.m. dual meet.
