BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – A pair of Gustavus student-athletes earned MIAC Athlete of the Week honors on Tuesday, Nov. 19, as Logan Cyr (So., Maple Grove, Minn.) and Ryan Lester (Sr., Hastings, Minn.) swept the swimming & diving awards.

Cyr continued his hot streak to start the year, winning all four events he participated in to lead the Gustie men to a dual win over St. Olaf. Cyr took first in the 1000 free in 10:31.20, won the 200 backstroke in 2:01.68, and claimed the 500 freestyle win as well, touching the wall in Cyr 4:57.28. He added a relay victory in the 200 freestyle relay to close things out for the day, with the Gusties taking first in 1:27.50, a time that ranks first in the MIAC this season.

On the boards for the Gustie men, Lester took first in the 1- and 3-meter to help the Gusties to a victory over St. Olaf. On the 1-meter, the senior posted a score of 229.90. On the 3-meter, Lester totaled a 225.90, which ranks third in the conference this season.

The men's swimming & diving team has earned an Athlete of the Week in each of the last three weeks, as Peyton Richardson (5th, Crystal Lake, Ill.) was the back-to-back swimmer of the week on each of the last two Tuesdays. 

The Gusties are back in action on Saturday, once again hosting at Vic Gustafson Pool, as both the men's and women's teams will take part in the annual Grace Goblirsch Invite.
