BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Peyton Richardson (5th, Crystal Lake, Ill.) was named the MIAC Men's Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
Richardson started his fifth and final season of collegiate swimming off strong, winning three individual events and contributing to a Gustie relay win in the 200 medley (1:37.39) in the team's season-opener at Luther. Richardson finished first in the 100 backstroke (53.98), 200 butterfly (2:04.16), and 100 butterfly (51.46), helping the Gusties to a 186-111 win over Luther.
This the fifth conference weekly honor in Richardson's career, having received the same award twice last season and once in both 2022-23 and 2021-22. The reigning MIAC Men's Swimmer of the Year's 100 fly time ranks first in the conference by over two seconds.
The swimming & diving team returns home Saturday to host UW-Stevens Point on Nov. 9 for a 1 p.m. start in Saint Peter.
