BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Peyton Richardson (5th, Crystal Lake, Ill.) was named the MIAC Men's Swimmer of the Week for the fourth time this season on Tuesday, Dec. 10.

Richardson led the Gustavus men to victory at Macalester's two-day Roger Ahlman Invitational over the weekend. Individually, Richardson collected the only Gustie victory on Friday, touching the wall first in the 200 IM with a time of 1:52.96, which sits atop the conference leaderboard.

He collected a pair of first-place finishes on Saturday as well, winning the 100 butterfly in 48.69. His time is an NCAA B cut and ranks first in the MIAC this season by over two seconds. He also won the 200 butterfly in 1:52.94 on Saturday, a time that is five seconds faster than the next closest MIAC competitor this year. The fifth-year was also a part of four Gustie relay teams that took second, competing in the 200 medley, 200 freestyle, 400 freestyle, and 800 freestyle relays.

Richardson's 100 butterfly time also ranks 20th in NCAA Division III this season.

This is Richardson's fourth Athlete of the Week selection this season, and fifth for the Gusties, who have claimed every men's swim weekly award since Nov. 4. Four of those have been awarded to Richardson, while Logan Cyr (So., Maple Grove, Minn.) received the honor on Nov. 19.

The Gusties are back in the pool Saturday for an intrasquad meet on before heading to their annual winter break training trip, which will take place in Puerto Rico this season.
