SAINT PETER, Minn. - The inaugural Give Like A Champion campaign on Feb. 7-8 set an initial fundraising goal of $250,000 to support Gustavus Athletics. The two-day campaign, coordinated by the Gustavus athletic department in collaboration with the Gustavus advancement office, far exceeded the initial goal and finished with a grand total of $427,333. 

A total of 1,228 donors contributed to the campaign, which supported all 23 varsity programs, the G-Club general athletics fund, and athletic training. Over half the teams exceeded their individual fundraising goals with women's tennis setting the benchmark at $50,000 raised. Of the five donor affiliations (students, alumni, parents, faculty/staff, and friends), alumni accounted for 45 percent of all donations. 

"What an incredible two days," Athletic Director Tom Brown said. "Our coaches and student athletes are humbled and so thankful to all of you. We didn't know what to expect for our first ever Give Like A Champion campaign and to raise well over $400,000 speaks volumes about our alumni, parents, and friends of Gustie athletics.
