INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) on Monday announced the 64-team field for its Division III Men's Basketball Championship and Gustavus (18-10) is selected to face Loras (23-5) in the first round, hosted by UW-Platteville.
Loras earned an automatic bid after defeating Nebraska Wesleyan 85-76 to win the American Rivers Conference Tournament, and finished third in the league with an ARC record of 11-5.
The first round matchup between the Gusties and the Duhawks will be the second meeting between the two programs. The Gusties enter the national tournament for the first time since 2012, and will be the sole team representing the MIAC in the tournament.
The Gusties' regional bracket also includes host UW-Platteville (23-4) and Bethany Lutheran (24-3). Tip-off is set for 5:20 p.m.
