SAINT PETER, Minn. - The d3hoops.com All-Region Teams were announced Tuesday and Gustavus senior guard Emma Kniefel has been selected to the Region 9 Third Team. 

Kniefel, who recently claimed MIAC Defensive Player of the Year honors as well as her third consecutive All-Conference nod, helped the Gusties lead the league with an opponent scoring averaging 50.3 points per game (12th/NCAA DIII) and +10.6 rebound margin (15th/NCAA). Kniefel led the team in scoring (11.8 ppg), three-pointers made (26-86), and steals (63). Playing in all 28 games this season, Kniefel averaged 24.9 minutes per game, shot 45.7 percent from the field, 76.5 percent from the free throw line, averaged 4.1 rebounds per game, and had 94 assists. 

After three full seasons plus a pandemic-shortened seven-game season in 2020-21, Kniefel has career marks of 992 points (10.9 ppg), 306 rebounds (3.4 rpg), 213 assists, and 146 steals in 91 games played. Kniefel ranks 14th in program history in both points and assists.
