LA CROSSE, Wis. - A small contingent of the Gustavus men's and women's track & field teams competed at the UW-La Crosse Final Qualifier on Saturday in hopes of making qualifying marks for the NCAA Indoor Championships.Â
Megan Geraets highlighted the day by setting the school record in the 200-meter with a time of 24.96, which currently ranks in the top eight in NCAA Division III this season.
Kate Carlson was close behind with a time of 25.20, which is in the top 15 in the country and second in the school record book. Both Geraets and Carlson are projected to compete in the 200-meter at the NCAA indoor meet.Â
Carlson also competed in the 60-meter with a time of 7.75. And Geraets also competed in the long jump and posted a mark of 18-5. Geraets currently ranks 16th on the national performance list in the long jump.Â
Madi Kes posted a mark of 37-6.5 in the triple jump and currently ranks 20th on the national performance list.Â
On the men's side,
Jade Anstine raced the 200-meter and posted a personal best time of 22.34, which ranks fourth in school history.Â
The 2024 DIII Indoor Championships are set for March 8-9 in Virginia Beach, Va. and the selections will be released on Sunday evening.Â
