SAINT PETER, Minn. - After breaking the school record and setting the second best time in Division III history in the sprint medley relay, the Gustavus relay team has been named the MIAC Men's Track Athletes of the Week.Â
The sprint medley relay team for Gustavus, consisting of
Tyler Heil (Appleton, Wis.),
Jade Anstine (Sioux Falls, S.D.),
Conner Martens (Nicollet, Minn.), and
Nick Brauer (Mankato, Minn.), traveled to the Drake Relays on Friday night and ran the second fastest time in Division III history, according to the USTFCCCA, crossing in 3:25.11. The group finished second in a stacked field, beating multiple Division II schools while also topping numerous NAIA schools and Division III schools. Junior
Nick Brauer's 800-meter at the end of the relay came in at 1:51:00, which would also stand as the fastest time in the MIAC by itself.Â
 The Gustavus track & field team competes multiple times this week, starting with the Todd Pfingsten Open tomorrow before the MIAC Multi Championships on Thursday and Friday, followed by the Ole Open on Saturday.Â
