BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Lauren Klaith (5th, Rockford) was named the MIAC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, Sept. 3.
Klaith led the Gusties to a 3-1 weekend over top national competition in Colorado. The fifth-year posted 61 kills over four matches (3.81 per set) while committing just 12 errors for a .320 attacking efficiency. Klaith had a pair of 20+ kill matches, picking up 21 against No. 5 UW-Oshkosh and 20 against No. 11 Transylvania. She hit over .400 twice over the weekend, including her match against Oshkosh (.419) as well as Colorado College (.423). She also added 11 digs and four blocks in the four matches. Klaith was also named to the Pikes Peak All-Tournament Team for her performance.
The Gusties left the weekend 3-1, concluding their trip with their first loss of the season, a 3-1 decision to Millikin, who also defeated No. 11 Transylvania and Colorado College over the weekend. The Gusties will head to the Augsburg Invitational this weekend, facing Wartburg on Friday.
