BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Peyton Richardson (5th, Crystal Lake, Ill.) was named the MIAC Men's Swimmer of the Week for the fifth time this season on Tuesday, Jan. 28.
Richardson won a trio of events and took second in three more to help the Gusties to a meet victory at the UW-Stevens Point Invite. He posted the top time in the 200 IM, a 1:59.61, and was the only swimmer in prelims to post a sub-two minute time. He picked up the only win on Saturday, taking first in the 100 butterfly with a time of 51.22.Â
He was also a part of the winning 400 medley relay team that finished first with a 3:33.05. The 200 medley (1:37.18) and 400 freestyle (3:11.96) teams also took second, while the fifth-year senior added an individual second place finish in the 200 butterfly (1:59.91). He also helped the 200 freestyle relay finish in 1:27.73 for third.
Richardson ranks first in the conference in two events, the 200 IM with a time of 1:52.96, and the 100 butterfly with a time of 48.69.
