BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Chance Swansson of the Gustavus Adolphus College football team has been named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Football Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Swansson intercepted the Oles in the first quarter and ran it back 40 yards for a pick six to give Gustavus an early 7-0 lead in a 35-21 victory on Saturday. The junior also had four total tackles in the game and had 33 punt return yards with a 20-yard return that set up the Gusties in St. Olaf territory.
