SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus College women's soccer team battled the Concordia College Cobbers at home on Wednesday afternoon in a conference contest. The Gusties shut out the Cobbers in a 1-0 victory.
After a scoreless first half,
Cambelle Waldspurger collected a pass from
Taylor Finney and fired a shot from along the endline that threaded the narrow lane between the goal posts at that angle and flew over the Cobber keeper to put the Gusties up 1-0 in the 51
st minute.
The lone goal would be all that it took to secure the win as the Gusties' defense allowed just three shots and
Katelyn Olson saved the lone Concordia shot on goal.
Gustavus outshot the Cobbers 20-3 with a 9-1 advantage in shots on goal.
Up next for the Gusties is an away game at the St. Catherine University Wildcats on Saturday, October 25 at 1:00 p.m.
