Men’s Golf Leads Twin Cities Classic by 14 Strokes After Round Two

ELK RIVER, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus College men's golf team is competing in the three-round Twin Cities Classic this weekend. The Gusties led the field by seven strokes after the opening round on Saturday and increased their lead in round two on Sunday by shooting +13 to bring their two-round score to +26, taking a 14-stroke lead over second-place Lake Forest heading into the final round on Monday.
 
Chris Gutuza led the Gusties in round two, shooting for par and taking sole position of first place in the overall leaderboard out of the field of 85 golfers at +2.
 
Wyatt Carlson had the second-best score of the day for Gustavus, shooting +2 to bring his tournament score to +12 and move up into a tie for 22nd overall.
 
Jimmy Abdo shot +5 in the second round, moving to sixth place overall with a two-day score of +6.
 
Kyle Peterson had the final counted score for the Gusties in the second round, shooting +6 on Sunday to remain tied for 27th overall at +13.
 
Up next for Gustavus is the final round of the Twin Cities Classic on Monday, October 6 with the first Gusties teeing off at 10:00 a.m.
