ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus College men's cross country team competed in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Championship on Saturday at the Highland 9 Cross Country Trailhead. The Gusties took fifth out of the field of 11 competing MIAC teams with a score of 121.
No. 21 St. Olaf won the conference championship with a score of 33. Following the Oles was Carleton (84), Macalester (96), and Saint John's (102).
Will Janzen led Gustavus in the championship race, placing 16
th overall out of the field of 164 runners with a time of 26:11.6.
Nick Brauer followed at 26:25.3 to finish 19
th overall.
Evan Pouliot (26:39.8),
Soren Sackreiter (27:14.9), and
Caden Riga (27:30.5) rounded out the top five for the Gusties, placing 23
rd, 39
th, and 48
th respectively.
Matthew Berge (27:48.2) and
Ethan Cox (27:50.6) had the sixth and seventh times for Gustavus, taking 58
th and 60
th overall.
Up next for the Gusties is the Saint John's Fall Finale on Saturday, November 7.
