SAINT PETER, Minn. – The No. 23 nationally ranked Gustavus Adolphus College volleyball team will take on the College of Saint Benedict Bennies on Thursday, November 13 at 7:00 p.m. at Gus Young Court in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Playoff Semifinals.
 
GUSTAVUS READY FOR POSTSEASON RUN
The Gusties enter playoffs as the No. 2 seed with a 9-2 MIAC record to go along with their 23-6 overall record. Having earned a first round bye, Gustavus will open their conference playoff run in the semifinals at home against the Bennies.
 
BENNIES AIMING TO KEEP MOMENTUM FROM QUARTERFINAL VICTORY
Saint Ben's, holding an identical 9-2 record in the conference with a 19-6 overall record, enters Thursday's semifinal match after having won a 3-0 sweep over the Augsburg University Auggies in the opening quarterfinal round on Tuesday. The Bennies dominated in a 25-15, 25-13, 25-11 victory over the Auggies, hitting .306 with a 37-25 advantage in kills and a 13-0 edge in service aces.
 
MOST RECENT HEAD-TO-HEAD CONTEST
The last time these two teams met was on September 26 of this season. The Gusties dropped the opening set 25-23 but went on to take the proceeding three sets 25-12, 25-14, 25-20 to defeat the Saint Ben's 3-1.
 
LAST YEAR'S PLAYOFF MEETING LOOMS LARGE
The most significant recent meeting between Gustavus and Saint Benedict took place in last year's MIAC Playoff Semifinals almost exactly one year ago to the day on November 14, 2024. The Gusties entered that match having not lost a conference match in over three years but fell 3-0 to the Bennies that night. Both teams will have that previous postseason meeting in mind heading into the match on Thursday night, with Gustavus looking to avenge last year's loss while the Bennies are aiming to once again upset the nationally ranked Gusties.
 
CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY
Thursday's two semifinal winners will meet on Saturday, November 15, in the 2025 MIAC Volleyball Playoff championship match. The match is tentatively scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on the home court of the highest remaining seed. The MIAC Playoff champion will receive the playoff championship trophy and the Conference's automatic bid to the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Tournament.
 
PLAYOFF ADMISSION
All tickets for the 2025 MIAC Playoffs will be sold and purchased online via HomeTown Ticketing. There will not be cash sales at any venue; however, spectators can purchase tickets using a mobile device, including while at the venue. Tickets are available for purchase immediately. General admission adult tickets are $12 (plus HTT service charge). Student (with ID) tickets are $3 (plus HTT service charge), and children ages five and under are admitted free. As a reminder, artificial noisemakers are not permitted at any MIAC events.
 
PAY-PER-VIEW
The 2025 MIAC Volleyball Playoffs will be streamed live on the MIAC Sports Network in a pay-per-view format. Individual playoff contests will be streamed for $10 each, or $25 for a "championship pass" to stream the entire tournament live. On-demand access to playoff matches will be available after the NCAA Tournament concludes.
