No. 25 Volleyball Falls to No. 3 UW-Oshkosh in NCAA Tournament Round of 32

OSHKOSH, Wis. – The No. 25 nationally ranked Gustavus Adolphus College volleyball team battled the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in the second round of the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship on Friday night at the UW-Oshkosh Regional. The Gusties' 2025 season came to an end as they fell in three sets to the Titans.

Gustavus took the first two points of the opening set, but UW-Oshkosh followed by taking the next five to go up 5-2 early. The Gusties retook the lead up 8-7 as the two teams began to battle neck-and-neck. Trailing 17-14, Gustavus won three in a row to even the score at 17-17. The Titans responded by winning five of the next six points to take a 22-18 lead. The Gusties pulled within two down 22-20, but UW-Oshkosh won the final three points of the set to take it 25-20 and go up 1-0 in the match.

In set two, the Titans leaped out to a 9-3 lead. The two teams competed evenly for most of the remainder of the set, but the early deficit proved too much for Gustavus to overcome. Late in the set, the Gusties trailed 21-16. From there, UW-Oshkosh won four of the final five points of the set to win it 25-17 and go up 2-0 in the match.

The two teams battled back and forth through the opening of set three to an 11-11 tie. The Titans then won six of the next seven points to take a 17-12 lead. The Gusties would pull to within four points twice more, but the big run by UW-Oshkosh gave them momentum as they pulled away from Gustavus, taking the set 25-17 and the match 3-0.

Logan Brent led the Gusties' attack with 10 kills. Sahara Morken orchestrated the offense with 18 assists. Maren Sundberg led the defensive effort with 19 digs to finish her career with 2,269 total digs, placing her third in Gustavus history behind only Brittany Luethmers '18 (2,292) and Emily Klein '08 (2,329).

The Gusties conclude their 2025 season with a 24-8 overall record to go with a 9-2 record in the MIAC.
