BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Noor Omar (Fy., Fridley, Minn.) was named the MIAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the first time of her career on Monday, Feb. 10. 

Omar went 4-0 in a trio of matches for the Gusties to remain undefeated in the singles dual season so far. Omar started her weekend with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over DII MSU-Mankato at the No. 5 singles spot. 

She added two more singles wins, this time at No. 4 (MSU-Moorhead) and No. 3 (Concordia) on Sunday, winning 4-6, 6-1, 10-8 against the DII Dragons and 6-0, 6-0 over the Cobbers in her MIAC debut. Omar and doubles partner Maya Brakhage also claimed an 8-2 win over the Cobbers No. 3 doubles team on Saturday as well. 

She's the second Gustie, and second first-year, to earn the MIAC's weekly award, joining Karina Elvestrom (Minnetonka, Minn.), who collected the honor in the week prior. 

The No. 24 Gusties (3-3, 1-0 MIAC) return for a weekend full of matches, starting with a non-conference tilt against NAIA Northwestern-Iowa (4-2 overall) at 8:30 a.m., followed by a 12:30 p.m. MIAC match against Saint Mary's (5-1 overall), and a pair of 3:30 p.m. matches as well. The Gusties will complete their trio of home matches against Bethany Lutheran (0-3 overall), while also sending a team to Virginia to face UM-Duluth (2-0, 1-0 NSIC).
