MANKATO, Minn. - A small contingent of the Gustavus men's and women's track & field teams competed at the MSU-Mankato Maverick Premier #1 on Friday. The meet featured 12 teams between Division II and III institutions.
A trio of Gusties moved up the NCAA Division III performance list.
Megan Geraets and
Kate Carlson both ran the 200-meter with times of 25.09 and 25.44, respectively, moving up to ninth and 20th in Divison III this season. Carlson also ran the 60-meter prelims and finished in 7.92.
Kailyn Walukas ran a personal best 5:22.75 in the mile.
Tyler Smith clocked a time of 1:55.21 in the 800-meter, setting a meet record while moving up to 29th in DIII this season.
Tyler Heil paced the men in the 200-meter with a time of 23.50, while
Sam Schulze led a quartet of Gusties in the 400-meter at 52.70.
A majority of the team will compete at the CSB/SJU Invitational tomorrow in Collegeville, which is the site of the MIAC Indoor Championships in two weeks.
