2/21/2025 11:11:00 PM

MANKATO, Minn. - The Gustavus men's and women's track & field teams had their final tuneup for the conference meet Friday at the MSU-Mankato Maverick Invitational and posted a number of personal and season bests.

"This was the perfect weekend for us in a lot of ways," said Head Coach Aaron Lund. "Some of our team got some much needed rest heading into next week, some fine-tuned certain things, others hit marks to qualify for the championships and a bunch had season or lifetime bests.

"Specifically in sprints today, Megan, Lauren, Cohen, Noah, and Tennessee all executed great race plans and are now bringing in a ton of confidence into the conference championships next weekend. Lauren and Megan had to battle through some things this season and their patience and determination paid off in a huge way today. We also had season bests in the 60-meter and 200-meter from Sarrah, Jensi, Grace, and Kate. The energy was super high and we are peaking at a great time. Very proud of the effort, attitudes, and energy from everyone on the team today."

Megan Geraets continued to add to her impressive resume, becoming the first athlete in school history to run a sub-57:00 in the indoor 400-meter, breaking her own school record, now at 56.76, which currently ranks 12th in NCAA Divison III this season. Kate Carlson had a season-best in the 60-meter with a time of 7.82.

In the 1000-meter, Sydney Hagen crossed the line in 3:09.51. Anna Omdal was the lone Gusties in the mile with a time of 6:01.44. Molly Liston ran a 10:42.27 in the 3000-meter.

In the field, Kayla Kajer set a personal best in the high jump with a mark of 5-4.25. Geraets recorded a 18-1.75 in the long jump to win the event. Keira McCord had a throw of 36-6.25 in the shot put, while Rebecca Hoffman hit a mark of 42-0.75 in the weight throw.

On the men's side, Isaac Meyer ran a 7.53 in the 60-meter. Landon Gilbertson clocked a 9.24 in the 60-hurdles. Cohen Stursa, Noah Stageberg, and Tennessee Fossen finished 11th-13th in the 400-meter with times of 52.11, 52.31, and 52.55. Mark Rud ran the 600-meter in 1:24.48.
