SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus College athletic department's second-annual Give Like a Champion athletics giving days - a two-day, online fundraising campaign - begins at 6 a.m. (Wednesday, Feb. 5)! The event will run through 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6.

As of 6 p.m. today (Tuesday, Feb. 4), there are plenty of matches and challenges set for the Give Like a Champion campaign's official start on Wednesday morning, courtesy of generous boosters and benefactors of Gustavus athletics. All funds will assist in providing championship-caliber support to the Gustie teams and student-athletes.

The goal of the 2025 campaign is set at $400,000 for the College's 800-plus varsity and club student-athletes. Each varsity team, as well as club athletics, sports medicine, and sports information will set an individual fundraising goal, with donors able to designate their monetary gifts toward a specific program, as well as the general athletic department, or G-Club. 

"On behalf of our varsity and club teams, sports medicine, and sports information, we need your support more than ever to run a championship-level athletics department," Gustavus athletic director Tom Brown said. "Please take the time over the next few days to get online, listen to our student-athletes and coaches share their stories on how your support will ensure they have a successful experience as a part of the Gustavus athletics community.

"The generosity of our alumni, families, friends, and fans continues to be instrumental in providing the resources necessary for our teams to excel on and off the field, court, or ice. We're looking forward to another successful event, and are thankful for the support of our student-athletes, coaches, staff, and our friends in advancement that have worked so hard to make these days possible."

The inaugural Give Like a Champion campaign was held last February and exceeded the initial goal of $250,000 by over 170 percent, raising $427,333 from 1,228 donors.  

Over the two-day event, fans and supporters will have the opportunity to hear testimonials from 60 current student-athletes, as well as every varsity coach through the Give Like a Champion video series, which will be found on social media, as well as the Gustavus Athletics YouTube channel.

The athletic department, in collaboration with the Gustavus advancement team, invites friends of Gustavus Athletics to consider getting involved through donating, becoming a campaign advocate, or challenging friends and former teammates with a matching gift.
