LA CROSSE, Wis. and WAVERLY, Iowa - Five Gustavus track & field athletes competed in last chance meets Saturday at UW-La Crosse and Wartburg.
At UW-La Crosse,
Megan Geraets set the all-time MIAC indoor record in the 200-meter on a flat track with a time of 24.85, which ranks 11th in Division III this season. She also took third place in the long jump with a mark of 18-6, which ranks 22nd in the country.
Kate Carlson's time of 25.07 in the 200-meter is second fastest in program history behind Geraets and ranks 21st in Division III. Carlson also placed 13th in the 60-meter with a time of 7.81.
Sam Schulze posted a 53.47 in the 400-meter for ninth place, while
Zechariah Kyoore took 18th in the 60-meter at 7.28.
At Wartburg,
Tyler Smith ran the 800-meter in 1:54.91 for ninth place.
Selections for the 2025 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships will be made on Sunday. The national meet will be held March 14-15 at Golisano Training Center in Rochester, N.Y.
