4/12/2025 6:34:00 PM

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - Gustavus track & field had several athletes move up in the NCAA Division III performance list Saturday at the Bethel Invitational.

Most notably, Megan Geraets moved into second place in Division III this season in both the 200-meter and long jump. Geraets set the facility and meet record in the 200-meter with a time of 24.19. She also won the long jump with a leap of 19-4.75, which crushed her previous school record mark of 18-11.75 set last season.

Kelley Brennan also set a facility and meet record in the discus with a heave of 142-02, which ranks 18th in DIII this season. Brennan set a personal best mark in the hammer throw, taking second place with a mark of 167-04, which ranks 14th in the country.

The 4x100 relay team of Allison Stacy, Geraets, Laura Thauvin, and Kate Carlson took third with a time of 48.02, which ranks 26th in the nation. Lili Guy had a podium finish in the triple jump, taking third place with a leap of 35-1.25.

On the men's side, Wyatt Hudspith won the discus with a mark of 151-05, ranking 46th in the country. Liam Frommelt took fourth in the triple jump, clearing 45-0.50 for 32nd in DIII. Cole Matetich and Brendan Carlson each cleared 6-2.75 in the high jump for fifth place.

"We had a really good meet today and showcased our strengths throughout the day," said Head Coach Aaron Lund. "We took advantage of the better weather conditions and big, competitive fields. While we are still a little ways away from peaking towards the championships, many on our team established new personal bests or some really quality, start of the season performances. Lots of great things to be proud of today and our team can't wait to finally compete at home next week for the first time this year!"

Gustavus hosts the Gustie Twilight on Wednesday.
