MANKATO, Minn. – Gustavus sent a small group of athletes to compete at the Maverick Invitational on Friday, posting several strong performances and personal bests across both track and field events.

Sarrah Lindner opened the meet with a team-leading time of 13.50 in the women's 100m, while Kyler Flunker paced the men with a 12.31. In the 200m, Teagan Stark posted a personal-best 28.65 to lead the women, and Flunker posted the top time again the men at 24.66. First-year Laura Thauvin had a standout run in the 100m hurdles, clocking 15.40 for one of the top preliminary times.

The 400m featured the largest group of Gustie competitors. McKenzie Luetmer led the women with a 1:00.91 for a 7th-place finish, while Cohen Stursa paced the men with a time of 51.13.

In the long jump, Lindner led the women with a mark of 4.95m and Jaylin Raab posted a team-best 5.72m for the men. Lili Guy turned in one of the top Gustie performances of the day with a 11.17m triple jump to place second overall. Connor McCormick matched his season best in the pole vault, clearing 3.76m to lead the team.

Zack Stordahl led the Gusties in the hammer throw with a toss of 43.28m. Grace Banse stood out in both the javelin and shot put, throwing a personal-best 23.70m in the javelin and recording 10.19m in the shot. Wyatt Hudspith capped off the meet with a personal-best 46.39m in the discus.

The Gusties will return to action Wednesday, sending another small group to compete at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
