MENOMONIE, Wis. – The Gustavus Adolphus College women's soccer team battled the University of Wisconsin-Stout Blue Devils on the road on Sunday, competing to a 1-1 draw.
The Blue Devils struck in the 19
th minute with goal by Kayla White to take an early 1-0 lead.
After a first half where the Gusties were out-shot by the Blue Devils 7-3, Gustavus responded by out-shooting UW-Stout 15-6 in the second half.
Gustavus tied the game in the 63
rd minute as
Cambelle Waldspurger threaded a pass in front of the Blue Devils' goal to
Haillee Wilson, who launched it past the diving keeper to score the equalizer.
Katelyn Olson had five saves in goal for the Gusties to preserve the tie.
Up next for the Gusties is a trip down to Mankato to take on the Bethany Lutheran College Vikings on Wednesday, September 3 at 4:30 p.m.
