HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – The Gustavus Adolphus College men's golf team is competing in the NCAA Division III Fall Preview this week at the Mission Inn Resort. After placing eighth in round one on Sunday, the Gusties moved up to seventh out of the field of 24 of the best DIII golf teams in the nation on Monday.
 
"Another gritty performance by the guys today," said Gustavus assistant coach Randall Stuckey. "The course is very difficult and any wayward shot really puts you out of position and will cost you strokes. We were patient throughout the round and know this made the difference today. Without it your mindset can really throw off your game. Proud of our guys who are performing well in one of the most competitive fields in the country. Another good test tomorrow for our last round before the MIAC Championship next weekend."
 
Jimmy Abdo again led the main Gusties team in round two, shooting for par to remain even for the tournament and tied for 12^th overall out of the field of 120 golfers. Blake Forrest, Wyatt Carlson, and Chris Gutuza are all tied at 33^rd overall at +4 through two days. Sam LaFrenz stands in 68^th at +8 through two rounds.
