LINCOLN, Neb. – The Gustavus Adolphus College men's soccer team faced the Nebraska Wesleyan University Prairie Wolves on Monday afternoon in a non-conference contest. The Gusties trailed at the half but rallied in the second to win 3-1.
The Prairie Wolves scored in the opening minute to take a very early 1-0 lead, but Gustavus would shut them out the rest of the way.
Sam Kaeding tied the game up at 1-1 in the 61
st minute, heading in a corner kick from
Diego Paulin for the equalizer.
Kieran Mahan scored the game winner in the 72
nd minute for Gustavus. He later added an insurance goal in the 80
th minute with
Evan Afdahl assisting.
Jackson Baker had four saves in goal for the Gusties.
Up next for the Gusties is a return to Saint Peter for a conference game against Saint John's University on Saturday, September 27 at 1:00 p.m.
