SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus College men's soccer team hosted the Saint John's University Johnnies at home on Saturday afternoon in a conference contest. The Gusties scored twice in the second half while shutting out the Johnnies to secure a 2-0 victory, improving to 7-2 overall and 2-1 in the MIAC.
After a scoreless opening half,
Cole Frazier put Gustavus up 1-0 right after halftime with a goal in the 46
th minute.
Simon Woods doubled the lead for the Gusties in the 71
st minute, scoring with the assist by
Joe Flory to put Gustavus up 2-0.
Jackson Baker had four saves in goal to secure the shutout victory for Gustavus.
Up next for the Gusties is a road trip to Northfield to take on St. Olaf on Tuesday, September 30 at 4:00 p.m.
