WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Gustavus Adolphus College women's golf team is competing in the Williams Fall Invitational this weekend. The Gusties are currently 13
th of 20 in the tournament, shooting +41 as a team in the opening round on Saturday.
"Today's round was a bit tough for us navigating ourselves around and on the greens," said Gustavus assistant coach
Randall Stuckey. "Taconic is a course that you have to have precise approach shots and on the correct side of the pin, otherwise you can get into big trouble. To score better tomorrow we will need to be more confident as we get closer to the greens Instead of tightening up. The gals really grind out their best scores and I'm thrilled the way they battled."
Teckla Wahlstrand led the Gusties with an opening round of +8, tying for 41
st overall.
Addison Longie was the Gustavus opening-round runner up, shooting +9 to tie for 48
th overall.
Lauren Hubbart tied for 57
th overall with a score of +11.
Riley Zebroski had the final counted score for the Gusties in the opening round, shooting +13.
Up next for the Gusties is the second and final round of the Williams Fall Invitational on Sunday, September 28.
