FARMINGTON, Minn. – Jackson Baker of the Gustavus Adolphus College men's soccer team has been named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Baker kept a shutout on Wednesday night against regionally-ranked Macalester, earning three points in the MIAC standings to propel the Gusties firmly into second place. The junior earned his third shutout of the season with four saves on 12 shots faced and made three more saves on Saturday in a 1-1 draw against Augsburg. The Excelsior native now has three shutouts in seven starts, good for a .429 shutout percentage, good for third in the MIAC.
This is the second MIAC Defensive Player of the Week award for Baker this fall.
Gustavus men's soccer returns to action on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m., hosting Bethany Lutheran for a non-conference matchup.
