FARMINGTON, Minn. – Karina Elvestrom of the No. 15 nationally ranked Gustavus Adolphus College women's tennis team has been named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Elvestrom won the 2026 ITA DIII Women's Midwest Regional Championships for both singles and doubles for the third year in a row last weekend. The junior teamed up with first year
Rory Wahlstrand to win five doubles matches against the best players in the region, culminating in 5-7, 7-5, 1-0 (10-7) comeback victory in the championship match. In singles, Elvestrom won six matches against the region's best players, capped off by a 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 victory in the title match.
Up next for Gustavus is the two-day UW-Whitewater Invite which begins on Friday, October 9.
