SAINT PETER, Minn. - The Gustavus Adolphus College men's swimming and diving team competed in their Gustie Challenge meet on Friday and Saturday. Saint John's sent a few swimmers from their team to join the competition in eight of the events.
Britton Patee won the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:49.56 and the 1650 freestyle in 16:56.67.
Aiden Shermak placed first in the 200 and 50 freestyles with times of 1:43.27 and 21.64.
Braden Ripken won the 100 freestyle in 48.53.
Ben Kell led all competitors in the 100 butterfly, winning the race in 53.25. Patee took first in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:55.49.
Braden Ripken won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:11.07.
Mason Cote took the 200 breaststroke win with a mark of 2:14.41.
Josh Wallin was victories in the 100 backstroke, swimming the race in 1:01.20.
Jack Reilly swam a 1:58.09 in the 200 backstroke to lead the field.
Logan Cyr took first in the 200 IM with a time of 1:59.18. Patee won the 400 IM in 4:11.93.
Gustavus won the 200 freestyle relay (1:27.98), 400 medley relay (3:43.60), 200 medley relay (1:33.58), 800 freestyle relay (7:22.30), and 400 freestyle relay (3:14.61).
Up next for Gustavus is the MIAC Championships starting Wednesday, February 11 and running for four days through Saturday.
