Liston Breaks 3000m Record As Gusties Deliver 25 Podium Finishes at the Meet of the Hearts

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Gusties returned to Northfield for the last time before the conference meet, setting new personal bests and continuing to build momentum towards the end of the indoor campaign, including a new 3000m school record by Molly Liston at 10:06.88. 

The Gustie women started the meet off hot, flexing their hurdle depth with a one-two-three finish from Laura Thauvin (8.95), Kayla Kajer (9.02), and Emily Podulke (9.19), respectively. 

Allison Stacy continued her strong season with a first-place finish in the 55m with a time of 7.42. Lauren Rocheford followed with a third-place finish in the 400 with a 1:03.43. 

Katja Wallin led the Gusties in the 600m with a time of 1:43.74, placing third, followed by Stacy winning her second event of the day with a 26.76 in the 200m. Molly Liston ran a strong 10:06.88 in the 3000m, which beat the previous school record, a 10:09.76 by Marit Sonnesyn, set in 2016.

The women's 4x400m ended the day on the track, placing third with a time of 4:25.13

On the field side, Kaylee Hawks came in third with a long jump of 5.03. In the high jump, Kajer and Hawks finished one and two, both jumping 1.53m. In the pole vault, Maddox Lee cleared 3.20m, good for second. 

In the triple jump, Ava Loftness came in first with a leap of 10.86, followed by Sophia Vogel at 10.58 in second.

For the men, Nick Brauer ran away with the mile, with a first-place finish at 4:20.82. Jade Anstine followed with a strong showing in the 55m, winning with a time of 6.59. 

Logan Jandro led the way in the 600m with a 1:23.25 for the win. Brauer followed in the 1000m with a second-place finish at 2:33.77. 

In the 200, Anstine and Conner Martens finished one and two, with times of 22.55 and 22.80, respectively. 

Liam Frommelt led the way for men's field events, placing third in the long jump with a 6.37m. In the high jump, Kyler Flunker soared over 1.88m, tying for 3rd place. Alex Palmer cleared 4.15m in the pole vault, placing second. 

The Gusties are back in action on Friday, February 20th, at the Maverick Invitational.
