BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Lanie Davis of the No. 20 nationally ranked Gustavus Adolphus College women's tennis team has been named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Davis won all three of her singles matches against NCAA DI, NCAA DII, and NAIA opponents last week. The sophomore earned the lone point for Gustavus against Creighton (DI), taking #5 singles 6-2, 6-4 against her Big East opponent. Against Nebraska-Kearney (DII) from the MIAA, Davis won #5 singles 7-6 (8-6), 6-1. The sophomore helped the Gusties earn a team win against the NAIA team McPherson, sweeping #5 singles 6-0, 6-0 and teaming up with
Molly Austin to win #2 doubles 6-3.
Gustavus is set to continue spring play on Tuesday, March 3 against Christopher Newport and Cedarville in Orlando, Florida.
